GASTRONOMY

Alhaurín gastronomy is tasty and varied. The "gazpacho", the most famous cold soup in the world, a great number of different soups, of meat, garlics, eggs, fish, etc. and some special foods only available in this town as, "cachorreñas", and "mojete" along with the rest of the regional, national and international dishes.

As for desserts and cakes, the most popular are " bollos de aceite",( oil buns) "mostachones", "bizcochos", (sponge or tipsy cakes), "roscos de huevo", "roscos fritos", "empanadillas" (patty), "tortas de aceite" (oil cake), etc.

All over the region and in the capital city, the "pan cateto"( rustic bread) it is very assessed. There are still many families in town who make their own wine and vinegar from the grapes of their vineyards.
