BENAHAVIS GASTRONOMY

Benahavis combines the culinary qualities of a mountain town with its proximity to the coast. For this reason, the menus of the town's numerous restaurants include the typical fare of the mountain, with a variety of meat, such as rabbit, suckling pig, beef or venison, together with traditional seafood dishes. such as the "zarzuela", (spicy seafood) of fish and shellfish, the sole and other exquisite marine species.

In any restaurant, normally attended by the proprietors themselves, assuring a pleasantly personal service, it is worth asking for "chorizo al agua", bull's tail, pork chops and beef sirloin "al carbon", partridge in sauce or quail.

Benahavis, however, near to the Costa del Sol and the cosmopolitan city of Marbella, also offers a complete international cuisine, where one can also savour an excellent Fondue Bourguignonne, with nothing to envy of any restaurant of the big city.

lf we add to all this the special atmosphere, which encourages pleasant conversations, gatherings or strolls, in a countryside which invites exploration, Benahavis becomes the ideal place for a quiet holiday or for an enjoyable culinary excursion.
