Enclose in a special seaworthy and agricultural, environment, Estepona fondly keeps its Andalusian traditions.

The Esteponian are very friendly people and the touristic boom has not overmuch change their way of life, although, as in the other towns along the coast, people from different country have influence, in a certain way, on these natural people.

Nevertheless, they still keep their liking to have a good chat with their friends, in front of a good cup of wine and a "tapa" of "Pescaito frito" -fried fish-, so popular in Estepona.

Every year Estepona takes on a festive air to celebrate its sacred and secular traditions. The towns' calendar of fiestas, which are in addition to the many other ways you can enjoy yourself in Estepona, begins with the Carnivals in February and winds up in middle August with the Tourist Day, a tribute to those who visit the town.

During the summer season, its beaches are full of people who, as soon as the sun sets, start their wandering about the town visiting its innumerable bars, pub, restaurants and discotheques with the fine intention of amusing themselves as much as possible.
