Some 15 kms. inland above Marbella, Benahavis, which takes its name from the Arab name for the town, Ben Habis, has been slowly moving into the tourism era, whilst continuing with its traditional activities of agriculture and cattle raising.

Its four golf courses, La Quinta, Los Arqueros, La Zagaleta and Montemayor are amongst the most appreciated on the Coast. Its gastronomy is very well known in the region, not only because of its quality, but for the huge number of restaurants in town, which take good care of its clients, not only offering delicious dishes but, at very reasonable prices.
