The first ever golf course in Spain to have been built as a municipal
facility, Pozoblanco, three and a half kms. away from the town, is a tribute
to the people of the area. After years of playing golf tournaments on rustic,
grassless layout, they convinced the local and regional authorities to
finance the construction of the course.
Carlos Luca de Tena designed this 9 holes course which is mainly
flat, but following the contours of the nature Reserve of "Cabezoliva",
within which it is located. The fairway grasses are indigenous and the
greens are watered by sprinkler system.
