Together with the Alcazaba the Atarazana Doorway is the most important remain of the Arab occupation in Málaga.

It was constructed in the XIII century as the entrance to one of the Atarazanas military installations built under the reign of Abderraman III. Today is the main entrance to the City Central Market.
