Located in the heart of the Park Promenade, this beautiful building, of Spanish Renaissance style, housed the City Municipal Council
It has three floors, and the main stairs are really impressive, built in Italian marble and embellished with five artistic stained-glass windows, showing several phases of the town history - the town setting up by the Phoenicians, the constitution of the first City Council, the entrance of the Catholic Monarchs in Malaga, the rebellion against the Admiralty and the entrance in the City of the King Philip IV.

Since 1494, Malaga, as per Royal certificate of the Catholics Monarchs, has the right of using the heraldry with its own coat of arms. Previously it was honoured with the title of "Very Noble City of Malaga", and later the King Philip IV added "Very Loyal".
Surrounded by the greenery of the gardens of Puerta Oscura, and the Paseo del Parque, the Town Hall is located in one of the most beautiful sites of Malaga
The Municipal Palace house a very important collection of the town pictorial richness, between its most important pictures we can mention "El Alegato" (The Pleading) by Ferrandiz. In the splendid Assembly Hall the ceiling is decorated with beautiful paints by Muņoz Degrain, Alvarez Dumont, Nogales and other malaguenian painters.
