The Costa del Sol Hospital was opened on 29th.
December 1993. It was constructed by the Health Council of the Andalusian
Government, and its intention is to give an efficient and good quality
answer to the hospital demands of the West Costa del Sol. It is a Public Hospital and it is coordinated with
the rest of the sanitary structure of the zone. On a surface of 45.000
sq.mts. the building is an intelligent one, with automatic control of all
its fixtures. The Hospital construction meant a considerable inversion
effort to the Andalusian Government of 4.841.992.132.- Ptas. to which another
1000 million had to be added to cover the cost of the most modern equipment
in electromedicine, computers, etc..which convert it into one of the lider
hospital in the whole Country. It takes care of some 140 emergencies daily, only
0'88% of which is proceed to other hospitals. It also has an average of
100 births every month. At present we have 145 beds operative and our objective
is to keep around this figure. The percentage of our foreign patients is
about 15% of the total. For them, we have constituted a volunteer system
of translators in the following languages; English, French, German, Danish,
Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Italian, Arab and Dutch, at the same time
