The
Plaza de Toros was inaugurated on 11th May 1784, but following the collapse
of part of the seating area, it was only finished in 1785.
The ring belongs to the Royal Order of Cavalry, and is the oldest in Spain
and the largest in the world.
Built totally of stone, it has a simple neoclassical baroque entrance, with a small balcony decorated with Ronda wrought iron with bullfighting motifs, supported by Tuscan columns, with the royal coat of arms in the centre.
